Jessica Fancy-Landry is your Federal Liberal candidate for South Shore - St. Margarets, bringing the values of integrity, dignity, compassion, and collaboration to politics. Born and raised in Queens County, Jessica understands the challenges and opportunities of our rural and coastal communities firsthand.

Jessica isn't a typical politician—she's a mom, educator, community leader, and passionate advocate for rural Nova Scotians. With years of experience teaching, coaching local youth sports, volunteering extensively, and leading the Rural Communities Foundation of Nova Scotia, Jessica has directed millions of dollars in investments to local initiatives, fought food insecurity, championed education, and promoted environmental sustainability.

Jessica's Story

Jessica's journey began in Caledonia, Queens County, on her family's button mushroom farm. Growing up, she learned the value of hard work through farming, raking blueberries at van Dyk's, and working at Douglas' Home Hardware. Active in her community from a young age, she excelled in leadership roles, including serving as Student Council President and earning recognition as NQRHS Female Athlete of the Year.

Community Champion

Jessica has always been deeply involved in community service, whether coaching youth sports, emceeing community events, or leading nonprofit initiatives like the David Gunning Zero Hunger Campaign. As Board Chair of the Rural Communities Foundation, she has helped channel over $2.1 million into community grants, creating impactful change for Nova Scotians.

A Commitment to Education

With advanced degrees in Educational Leadership and Rural Education from Memorial University, Jessica is an award-winning researcher dedicated to rural youth advocacy. Her award-winning research has informed provincial education policies, and she continues advocating tirelessly for educational equity and community-driven development in rural Nova Scotia.
